1983:- Ariankuppam, Veerampattinam, Kakayanthope, Manavely villages consists of

fisherman, non-fisherman and Harijan community. Communal clashes between fisherman and non-fisherman community used to take place very often. - In such occasions, association pacified the agitators and settled the clashes amicably. In 1983, the president of the association was appointed as one among the 5 members Kakayantope Veerampattinam Peace committee, under the leadership of Pondicherry Collector, District Magistrate, Tasildar and a head of the village. Due to a communal clash between the vanniar caste of Kakayantope and fisherman community of veerampattinam, nearly 25 huts and houses were burnt and two men were murdered each on both sides. Through various meetings and discussions, it took nearly six months to establish peace and friendship between the two communities. Government of Pondicherry upheld my services and awarded a certificate.

1988 - Communal clash between the students of vanniar caste and schedule caste: In 1988, when the Thavalakuppam Higher Secondary School in Ariankuppam constituency was indefinitely closed, due to misunderstanding and communal clash between the students of vanniar caste and schedule caste. A communal clash was at its peak. The schedule caste students were unable to return home and they locked themselves in school. The school Principal was not there at that period and the Vice-Principal refused to take a decision and waited for higher authorities. The police were also quiet because it was a clash between students. At that right moment, the president of the association faced the situation bravely and with the help of the police, took the schedule caste students out from their classrooms and took them to their village Abishegapakkam. Abishegapakkam was a harijan colony; they agitated against us on the first sight because we belonged to the vanniar caste with which they were in anger. The students explained to the village people and to their parents that we supported them and helped to get them out of their classes. The students calmed down the agitated people. They were happy to see the children safe from school. Through various meetings and discussions between the students first and latter among the parents of both communities, our association took necessary efforts to reopen the school -and formed a Parents Association to that school. From that date onwards the school functions smoothly.
