The National Foundation for Communal Harmony (NFCH) has been organizing essay writing competitions regularly among the officers of the All India Services and Group ‘A’ Central Services, who undergo training at the Lal Bahadur Shastri National Academy of Administration (LBSNAA).  This monograph is an outcome of one such essay competition organized during the 80^th Foundation Course of the Academy in the year 2006. The subject of the essay competition was “Universal Education for Social Harmony”.  As the subject has become quite topical in the recent years, selected essays have been presented in the form of an e-monograph for wider dissemination.
