RESEARCH AND FELLOWSHIPS

 

Research

 

(i) Proposals for studies/research are being invited from time to time from universities, research organisations, schools of social work, autonomous organisations, media personnel, renowned institutions working in the field, individuals, etc. for empirical, participatory and action oriented research and other studies having strong relevance to promotion of communal harmony and strengthening of national integration. 

(ii) Universities/ Educational Institutions have been entrusted with study of certain subjects relating to communal harmony etc. and financial assistance/ cost of study is being reimbursed to them. Studies so far completed are as follows:

Fellowships

General 

 

In order  to promote study and research in promoting communal harmony, a scheme for undertaking research in study of field situation in the communally sensitive districts has been introduced. 

1. Eligibility 

     Candidate having passed NET OR SLET examination (if any), conducted by the University Grants Commission or by the prescribed state government agency, will be given preference.

    The fellow shall undertake research at any of the Indian Universities where disciplines as mentioned at  1(ii) above are being offered for postgraduate course or undergraduate courses or diploma courses wholly or partly or any of the autonomous organisation/institute of central/state government.

 

4. Application

 

       Application for fellowship award may be submitted on the prescribed proforma (Annexure V) duly completed by the candidate alongwith required enclosures to the Secretary, National Foundation for Communal Harmony, 9th Floor, C-Wing, Lok Nayak Bhawan, New Delhi at any time. The candidate working in any university or government institution should  apply through proper channel. Application for the award should be accompanied by the following documents;   

a.     Certified copy of the matriculation or school leaving certificate in support of age;

b.     Copies of all the degrees, diplomas, professional experience certificates along with their respective mark sheets duly attested;

c.     If the candidate belongs to schedule caste/ schedule tribe, she/he should send certificate in support of caste;

d.      Certificate of having qualified NET/SLET examination (if any);

Safe return of any original document is not guaranteed, hence, only attested copies should be sent. Original documents should be sent, if called for.  

 

5. Leave

 

   A fellow shall be entitled for leave for a maximum period of 30 days per year in addition to public holidays. The women awardees would be eligible for maternity leave at full rates for a period not exceeding 135 days once during the tenure of their award/fellowship. No other leave will be admissible.
